Like Elsewhere in the Globe, Anthropological Survey of India, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre, Port Blair observed the International Day of Yoga in a befitting manner on 21st June, 2016. In accordance with the circulated Guideline and protocol of the programme, all the staffs, Security guards and others of this Regional Centre were assembled at the office premises at 6.30 a.m and participated in the hands-on orientation on Common Yoga Protocol (CYP).

The Programme was facilitated by two resource persons namely Pradeep Das (Yoga Instructor) and Buloba (Yoga demonstrator/Student) from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lambaline, Port Blair. The Key highlight of this event was Yoga demonstration by Buloba who is a member of Great Andamanese community from Strait Island. This is noteworthy to mention that the Great Andamanese is one of the five Particularly Vulnarable Tribal Groups (PVTG) of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He has demonstrated different Yoga exercises in accordance with the CYP.
